Is this a medical program?
Just Right Healthy Aging™ is a physician-created wellness program designed to complement your existing care. It does not diagnose or treat any disease, replace medical treatment, or substitute for advice from your healthcare professional.
Is it too late for me to build muscle?
For the vast majority of people, no. Research consistently shows that adults can gain strength and muscle through resistance training and adequate protein well into their 80s and 90s. You may progress at a different pace than you did at 30, but meaningful improvements in strength, balance, and function are achievable at virtually any age.
Isn't this mostly a protein program?
No — and that distinction matters. Just Right Healthy Aging™ works because four parts act together: your personalized vitamin D program, a daily HMB and creatine supplement, smartphone-guided resistance training, and a personalized protein plan. Each works through a different biological pathway, and no single piece carries the program on its own. Protein is one pillar — important, but not the whole story. The strength, balance, and independence this program is built to protect come from the combination, not from any one ingredient.
Is protein powder included in the program?
No — and many members find they do not need it. What is included is your personalized protein plan: an estimate of how much protein you need each day, and how much (if any) you need beyond what your meals already provide. Some people reach that target with everyday foods; others prefer a shake or powder. Protein powder is simply one convenient option, never a requirement. The daily supplements we do provide are HMB and creatine, which work alongside your vitamin D program and your resistance training.
Why do you include HMB and creatine but not protein powder?
Because protein works differently from the daily supplements. HMB and creatine are taken in small, fixed daily amounts, so they fit neatly into a single convenient daily product. Protein is more individual — the amount depends on your diet, and the best source depends on your taste and routine. Keeping protein flexible lets you meet your target in the way you will actually maintain, whether that is food, a shake, or a powder. Every part — vitamin D, HMB, creatine, resistance training, and adequate protein — is designed to work together.
Can I meet my protein target with food instead of a powder?
For many people, yes. If your meals already supply enough high-quality protein, you may not need a powder or shake at all. Your assessment estimates your current intake and shows whether — and how much — additional protein would help. Everyday foods such as Greek yogurt, eggs, fish, poultry, cottage cheese, beans, or lentils can close that gap just as effectively as a powder. The goal is the right amount of protein, not a particular product.
Can I use a protein powder I already use?
Absolutely. If you already use a protein powder or ready-to-drink shake, your assessment can account for it. You will be asked about the protein per serving and whether the product also contains ingredients such as creatine, HMB, or vitamin D, so your overall plan stays balanced and avoids unnecessary duplication.
Why is vitamin D included?
Vitamin D is one of the four pillars, not an add-on. It is essential for normal muscle function, bone strength, and balance, and low vitamin D becomes more common with age — contributing to weakness and falls. Every member receives the personalized Just Right D™ program as a six-month supply, determined by your own vitamin D needs rather than by how much protein you consume.
What if I have kidney disease or have been told to limit protein?
Your assessment will screen for relevant medical considerations. If you have kidney disease, dialysis, a clinician-directed protein restriction, or another condition affecting protein or supplement use, you should speak with your healthcare professional before following an automated protein recommendation or starting new supplements.
Do I need a gym or special equipment?
No. Your resistance training exercises are designed for practical at-home use with little or no equipment. The goal is to help you build a realistic routine that can be continued throughout your program.
